Waiting for wood to dry means more planning?

So I have to wait a bit longer than I wanted to to finish up the soprano lyres. I ran out of wood. Which has never actually happened before. I am beside myself. Got a perfect cedar 4x4 with 32-ish rings per inch which is phenomenal for a home depot board. But it was way more wet than I expected, so I went ahead and sliced it up into plates and have it stacked and stickered in 30% humidity with a fan blowing on it and an anvil weighing it down, so hopefully at 3/16" they don't take too long to dry. I do have some spruce I could use but the chatoyancy is oddly mirrored so depending on what side you look at it from, the far side will be dark and the near side is light, and if you spin it, it flips? Idk, it's kinda cool but looks way too out of place on an instrument top for my liking. If one of the 4 people reading this knows whatsup with that, please do let me know.
So.. meantime, prototyping the next size up(concert). At 18 inches, it will be up from 14 on the soprano size. Probably going to add a brace under the bridge on this one as the top has more surface area and the soprano already flexes a tiny little bit from string tension as is. I added an inch to the headstock length which gives me room for an extra string which is always fun. It also may be a little bit too big, maybe I should have only gone 3" bigger. It's glued now though so we'll see. With 4" increments the tenor would come out at 22" which seem like too much. Cumbersome, perhaps. Again, we'll see. Maybe 3" increments would be better.
As I've been playing with furniture designs in cad at night lately I've been realizing I could probably put together packages of plans. Either digital only which come with pdf's and printable templates, or physical packages with paper plans, 3d printed templates, etc.. Might buy a couple sets of plans from rockler fine woodworking or whomever to peruse through and get a sense of what a full package should look like at different price points.
Sucks, I really wanna build myself a new acoustic guitar right now to get practiced with necks again, but that would be to many baskets with my hands in them.
